Three tricks to keep positive every day - keeping it real!

We're allowed days where we feel fragile. Days when we're overwhelmed by it all. It's the oddest of times and we've all got to do our bit, that's for sure. But just make sure you do your bit for yourself too. Especially in these uncertain times.

Mindfulness can sound complex. It can sound like something that isn't really 'you'. I used to think it was sitting cross-legged deep in meditation, something that you needed to make time for. It's really not. These should all help you stay positive when the world is spiralling out of control.

I've gathered three things that I do mindfully without even thinking... you might be doing them too.

Write stuff down

Journaling can appear intense - like it's another job to do. So rephrase it; jot stuff down, get shit out your head and on paper. When I feel stressed and uptight, I find that it really helps the chaos of my brain to declutter.

Walk - and actually see what's in front of you

Put your phone down and take in your walk. Appreciate your surroundings. Take in the weather. Absorb what's going on. Sunsets are so good for us; they should be bottled up and given in times of need.

Find your happy habits - perhaps a few minutes of yoga?

I love a bath. Sinking into a bath with a cuppa and maybe a soggy magazine.

I also love a yoga flow. Especially outside. It's that little bit of time for you to get your body moving, to relax into your breath and to steady your mind.
